So …. I was setting at The Cocky Rooster last Thursday night and a fellow I met named AJ gave me an idea for a cartoon …

Pretty happy with how it came out … It’s about that time.

Christmas in Comfort happens the Saturday after Thanksgiving and has been happening for a long time … the downtown streets of Comfort, Texas are closed off and the place is full up with street vendors peddlin’ their crafts, wares and food followed by one of the largest nightime Christmas parades around.

The Cartoon Cowboy has made an effort to participate in the festivities (Lone Star Beer) every chance he gets.

Here are a few photos from yesterday’s event.

“MACHETE” … the street peddler did manage to wrangle a $10.00 bill from me for the purchase of this fine Rudolph hat … well worth the money …

THE CARTOON COWBOY …

On my side of the river …

(if this offends you, remember that I am a cartoonist that deals in satire and cynicism. In short it doesn’t really bother me that you are offended)

Ol’ Judge Roy Bean’s place was always a favorite place of my Dad’s … of course when he went there for the first time in the early 1950’s it wasn’t anything like it is today.

The State of Texas has stepped in and made everything around there real fancy …

Still a place I like to visit on occasion.

They say this place is 2 miles from water and 2 feet from HELL !

… I’ve never been big on creating graffiti, but I will sketch as few ‘toons if the opportunity arises …

This is an old abandoned motor court between Comstock and Langtry, Texas.

I can’t ever drive by this place without stopping.

Had an unexpected visit of Friday from cowboy artist and spinner of tall tales Rick McCumber from Georgewest, Texas on his way to do famous people stuff in Fredericksburg, Texas.

He dropped off some oddities and curios for The Cartoon Saloon.
